The research in printmaking at
Unicamp, through the lnstitute of Arts, begins around

with the acquisition of the first university press and the teaching of woodcut,
through extension activities. At present,

research and extension, besides hosting projects, giving advice and promoting activities
such as exhibitions, presentations and workshops.
The collection of original prints of important Brazilian artists, made during the
history of the Laboratory and the Center for Research in Printmaking of the
lnstitute of Arts (CPGravura),was incorporated into the collection of 350 prints of the printmaker Marcelo Grassmann, acquired through FAPESP funding,
originating the Cabinet of Prints: Drawings and Prints Department of Unicamp.
The Cabinet of Prints,
linked directly to the Gallery of the lnstitute of Arts in
partnership with the Central Library César Lattes, is a space for the
preservation and research of the collection of prints of the lnstitute of Arts, mobilizing several areas
of knowledge in its processes of preservation, conservation, research,
diffusion and exhibition, being a meeting point
between the arts,
history, philosophy, education, musicology
and curatorship,
involving the interested
