17th International Triennial of Small Graphic Forms, Poland - Łódź 2020


Rules of participation
1/ The competition of the 17th International Triennial of Small Graphic Forms, Poland - Łódź 2020, scheduled to take place in Łódź from June to September 2020 in Villa Gallery, 31, Wólczańska St., can be attended by professional artists from Poland and abroad, as well as the senior year students of art colleges. Participation in the competition is free of charge. The submitted works will be qualified for the exhibition by an international jury appointed by the Triennial organiser. The decisions of the jury are final and cannot be subject to appeal.

2/ In order to participate in the competition it is necessary to carefully complete the application form and sign it by hand in three places (subject to the consent to leave the works in the Gallery’s collection, acceptance of all terms and conditions and an information clause).

3/ Each artist may submit for the competition up to 5 works of their authorship created in the years 2017-2019 (this time limit does not apply to authors attending the exhibition for the first time) by the non-negotiable deadline of 31 December 2019.
The date of the submission is determined by the date on the postal stamp.
Graphics should be sent only by standard or registered mail (customs problems exclude valuable shipments in packages and parcels) to the following address:

The costs of the graphics’ shipment are covered by the authors. The organisers are not liable for the damages or loss of the works during transport.

4/ Only prints from graphic plates not exceeding the dimensions 12 x 15 cm, made on paper not bigger than 25 x 20 cm (without passe-partout) will be accepted for the exhibition. The post-competition exhibition will be displayed using passe-partout and uniform frames size 70 x 50 cm, provided by the organiser.

5/ The best ten works will be awarded with Honorary Medals and 10 financial prizes in the amount of EUR 1,000 net each. The award will be paid by means of money transfer to the bank account indicated by the winner.
6/ All participants of the post-competition exhibition will receive the exhibition catalogue in an electronic version as a PDF file. A free copy of the catalogue will be sent by post to the persons who request its printed version. The postage cost shall be covered by the participant. The cost depends on the participant’s place of residence. The catalogue can be also collected personally.

7/ The works not qualified for the exhibition can be collected personally by 31 August 2020 or returned to their authors by the organiser after the exhibition closes. The cost of the works’ transport are covered by the organiser. The organisers are not liable for the damages or loss of the works during their return shipment to the authors.

8/ To help us prepare the catalogue, please complete the registration form carefully (in block letters) and send it along with the graphics. It is possible to download and print the application form from the Gallery website from the tab mfg/zasady-uczestnictwa and send it along with the works to the address of the City Art Gallery in Łódź.

9/  By 31 March 2020, the artists will be informed about the outcomes of the international jury debate. A list of the exhibition participants will be published on website www.mgslodz.pl/mfg

10/ The result of the previous exhibitions is a valuable collection of 12,861 contemporary graphic works from over 70 countries, which helps the City Art Gallery in Łódź promote graphic art in Poland and abroad.

11/ All works qualified by the international jury for the exhibition become the property of the City Art Gallery in Łódź. They will enrich the collection of the Small Graphic Forms in the Gallery holdings.
